Professional Employment Solutions in Bangladesh

A professional employment solution is the placement of a named specialist into a permanent role on your own payroll. PayrollBD takes the role brief and verifies every candidate before you meet one. The hire your company employs directly comes with the record showing how the choice was made.

What is a professional employment solution?

Placement is search, verification and handover for one named role, and it ends the day your candidate starts on your payroll. It is not co-employment and it is not outsourcing: the employment relationship belongs to your company from the first day.

That boundary is what separates this page from our professional employer and employer of record services, where PayrollBD carries employment duties itself.

  • The brief — the role, the band and the must-have skills, agreed in writing before the search.
  • The search — our own candidate base plus the open market, screened by interview.
  • The evidence — certificates sighted, references taken, claims checked before you see a name.
  • The handover — offer closed, start confirmed, the search file handed to your HR.
The four parts of a professional placement: brief, search, evidence and handover

Who gains what from a placement?

A placement has two sides, and it only holds when both get something they can verify. The employer gets a shortlist that has already been questioned. The professional gets a role that was defined before it was advertised. The two panels below name what each side receives from us.

For the hiring company

A shortlist you can defend. Every candidate on it has been interviewed by us, the certificates have been sighted and the references taken, so your managers spend interview hours on people already worth the hour.

The fee is fixed at the brief, and a role we cannot fill honestly is declined at the brief rather than searched badly.

For the professional

A role that exists as written. The duties, the band and the reporting line were fixed with the employer before the search opened, so what is described at interview is what starts on day one.

Your documents are checked once, with you, and your salary position is put to the employer by us rather than left to the last conversation.

Which service do you actually need?

Five different needs arrive at this page, and only one of them is a placement. The table names each need, the service built for it, and who employs the person under it. The boundary can be checked before an enquiry rather than after a proposal. Wider recruitment for offshore teams sits under offshore remote staff recruitment.

How does a placement run?

Five stages, and the first one does the most work. A search that opens on a loose brief produces a loose shortlist, so the brief is written and agreed before anything else moves. Each stage below ends with something you can hold.

  1. Take the role brief. Duties, band and skills, agreed in writing.
  2. Search and screen. We interview every candidate before you do.
  3. Present the shortlist. Named list, with certificates and references.
  4. Interview and offer. We hold the timetable and the offer.
  5. Close the file. Start date confirmed, search file handed over.

What do we verify before a shortlist?

Four checks run on every candidate before a name reaches you, because the cost of a bad hire lands after the start date, when it is hardest to unwind.

Where the candidate is a foreign national, the work permit route is confirmed first. The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority requires the hiring company to hold a BIDA registration. The expatriate must submit the work permit application within fifteen days after arrival, and an inter-ministerial committee awards the permit.

  • Identity and certificates. Sighted, not photocopied on trust, with the issuing institution named in the file.
  • References. Taken by us, from the referee, with the notes kept in the search file you receive.
  • Claims against the person. The CV is questioned at interview, and what does not survive questioning does not reach you.
  • Right to work. For foreign nationals, the BIDA registration and permit route are confirmed before interview.

After the start date the employer duties are yours, and the first of them is fixed by statute: section 5 of the Bangladesh Labour Act 2006, Act No. XLII of 2006, requires a letter of appointment and a photograph identity card for every worker employed. We flag that duty at handover so the file your HR receives is already pointing at it.

What gets asked before a placement?

These six questions come up before nearly every search, and the first one is always about the fee. Each answer states the position first, then names what it rests on, so the point can be checked against the brief or the statute rather than taken on trust.

What does a professional placement cost?

The fee is agreed per role before the search opens, and it moves on two things: how senior the role is and how scarce the skill is in Bangladesh. Nothing is charged for a role we have not taken a brief on, and the fee is confirmed in writing with the brief rather than discovered at the invoice.

Send the role and the band you hire in, and the quote comes back with the search plan.

Who employs the person after placement?

Your company does. A placement ends with the candidate on your own payroll, and the employer duties that follow are yours. Those include the letter of appointment and photograph identity card required by section 5 of the Bangladesh Labour Act 2006.

Where you want the hire employed by a provider instead, that runs under employer of record rather than under placement.

Do you place foreign nationals in Bangladesh?

Yes, where the work permit route is open. The hiring company must hold a BIDA registration before the appointment, and the expatriate submits the work permit application to BIDA within fifteen days after arrival.

We confirm both before the candidate reaches interview, so no offer goes out that cannot be permitted.

How are candidates verified before a shortlist?

Every name on a shortlist has been interviewed by us first, with certificates sighted and references taken. The claims on the CV are checked against the person who made them.

Where the candidate is a foreign national, we confirm the work permit route with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority before the interview stage. An offer that cannot be permitted is a wasted round for everyone.

When does this service not fit?

It does not fit a specialist paid a fee against deliverables, which is contractor payroll. Nor does it fit a hire you want employed by a provider rather than by your company, which is employer of record.

It also does not fit site workforce supplied at volume, which runs under labour manpower supply. Placement is for named professional roles that end on your own payroll.

Can PayrollBD employ the hire instead of my company?

Yes, but not under placement. Where you want the person employed by a provider, the case runs under our employer of record service, with PayrollBD as the record employer.

Placement always ends with the candidate on your own payroll. We say which service fits at the brief, before any search opens.

When do the hiring duties fall due?

Three dated duties sit around a placement, and each belongs to a named authority rather than to us. Two fall on the hiring company, and the third falls on the expatriate personally.

The table sets each duty beside the moment it falls due and the authority that fixes it. The calendar can then be checked before an offer goes out rather than after a start date has passed.

Send us the role you need filled

Send the role title, the band you hire in and the three skills the role cannot run without. We come back from our Dhaka office with the search plan and the fee for that role before anything opens. Reviewed by Eicra Binte Islam, HR Admin, PayrollBD.

If the case is really employer of record or contractor payroll rather than placement, we say so at the brief instead of after a search.
